Meet Sandi
Sandi is a native Californian that delights in discovering and photographing nature in her state. She and her husband, Barry, are working on visiting every state and National Park in the country.
Sandi discovered her passion for fiber art in the year 2000 when she randomly attended an art quilt show. She was inspired, determined and driven to this form of art. After a few lessons on the basics of sewing from her very patient sister-in-law, she began creating her “proudly self-taught” process of turning her photography into fiber art.
Sandi enjoys the “hunt” and resourcefulness of using recycled fabrics; her favorites being recycled ties & scarfs, antique table cloths and wool coats. She spends hours gaining academics before beginning a piece. She feels nature deserves as much.
The steady and most important aspect in Sandi’s work is prayer. She prays for its’ recipient as she works, weather she knows its recipients identify or not. This adds a personal and spiritual importance to each piece created.
