The steady and most important aspect in Sandi’s work is prayer. She prays for its’ recipient as she works, weather she knows its recipient’s identity or not. This adds a personal and spiritual importance to each piece created.
Meet Sandi
Sandi is a native Californian that delights in discovering and photographing nature in her state. She, her husband, Barry, and their 2 pups, Franklyn and Harriett, are working on visiting every state and U.S. National Park.
Sandi discovered her passion for fiber art in the year 2000 when she randomly attended an art quilt show. She was inspired, determined, and driven to this form of art. After a few lessons on the basics of sewing from her very patient sister-in-law, she began creating her “proudly self-taught” process of turning her photography into fiber art.
Sandi has sense participated in courses and residencies to further expand her ability to create art that both evokes an emotion or memory while enhancing ones space.
Sandi enjoys the “hunt” and resourcefulness of using found treasures and recycled fabrics, especially clothes that represent the style and life of a “passed” loved one, to create a unique piece.
